The Pavilion from Leiden Central Station

This short walk takes just a few minutes. Exit the train station at the front. There is a taxi stand to your left

, a bus station to your right

, and the Steenstraat (literally: Stonestreet) into town in front of you. You'll spot the tourist office at the left side of the street

, and a Jumbo supermarket on the right. Sticking to the right side of the street, walk past the supermarket into town

. After about a hundred meters, the road goes over a stone bridge across a canal

. Across the water on the left is windmill De Valk

. The buildings across the water to the right are the museum

. Cross the bridge, stay on the right side of the street. The building with a terrace on the left side of the street is city café Van der Werff

. Walk about another fifty meters, until the entrance to the city café is right across the street. You're at the Main Gate of Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde

now. Walk onto the museum premises. Turn left at the totem pole

and continue to walk along the back of the museum

. When you come across the sign post at the back of the museum

, you can already see the Pavilion
