near Leiden Central Station
Several hotels are within walking distance of Leiden Central Station.
Hotels in front of the station include the 3-star

The 4-star Hampshire Hotel Fitland - Leiden is about 50 metres behind the station, and includes paid parking.
The 4-star Mariënpoel Hotel Leiden is about 200 metres from the station, and offers paid private parking.
in the town centre
Hotels in the centre, perhaps a bit too far from the station to walk there with a lot of luggage, but certainly within walking distance of The Pavilion, include the 2-star Hotel Mayflower, the 2-star City Hotel Nieuw Minerva Leiden, the 3-star Hotel De Doelen, the 3-star Best Western City Hotel Leiden, and the 3-star Rembrandt Hotel Leiden.
near highways
These two hotels of well known chains are both located off the N206, close to the A44 motorway, and offer free parking.
The Holiday Inn Leiden is a small kilometre from the station,
and well outside the city centre. They do offer a free shuttle service, but only in the morning and afternoon of workdays;
be sure to check the timetable on their site if anticipate using this service.
Genealogists may appreciate that the hotel is located next to the century-old Begraafplaats Rhijnhof
but be advised that photographing the graves is not allowed.
The brand new 4-star Hilton Garden Inn Leiden is not located within Leiden, but just across the town border, in the adjacent town of Oegstgeest, next to the CORPUS museum. This hotel is aimed at motorists. The nearest bus stop is a seven minute walk away, they do not offer a shuttle service, but do provide directions for driving there from Schiphol and Rotterdam Airport.
